What Is SkinPen?

SkinPen is a small microneedling device that rejuvenates your skin from the inside out, jumpstarting collagen production without heat or chemicals.

What Can Microneedling Do for Your Body?

At Elite Aesthetics on the Upper East Side, we routinely use SkinPen to treat the following aesthetic body issues:

Stretch Marks

SkinPen microneedling can lighten stretch marks by stimulating collagen production.

Skin Laxity

When applied to the body, SkinPen can tighten and firm loose skin so that the treatment area has a more toned appearance.

Cellulite

By smoothing and contouring the skin, microneedling can also make your cellulite less apparent.

Skin Texture Issues

Microneedling can improve skin texture, scars, and other surface imperfections on the body.

Your Consultation

Before we schedule your microneedling appointment, we will first schedule a private consultation at our Flatiron medical spa to be sure this treatment is the best solution for your goals. During this meeting, we will assess your skin, review your concerns, and talk to you about what microneedling can and cannot accomplish. From there, we’ll craft a bespoke treatment plan that’s tailored to your needs and may include complementary procedures, including CO2 laser body treatments, Morpheus 8 body contouring procedures, and more.

Your SkinPen Body Appointment

Your SkinPen body appointment will take place in a private treatment room at our luxurious Manhattan medical spa. To begin, an experienced provider will gently cleanse your skin and apply a topical anesthetic. Then, we will move the SkinPen device over the treatment area, creating millions of controlled microchannels in the skin. Your body will respond to these wounds by producing fresh collagen, elastin, and growth factors, which will improve your skin quality and reduce the appearance of surface irregularities.

Frequently Asked Questions SkinPen Microneedling

How does microneedling work?

It stimulates your skin’s healing response, encouraging the production of fresh collagen and elastin. These proteins are essential for smooth and firm skin.

How many microneedling treatments will I need?

It depends on the quality of your skin and what you hope to accomplish. For most clients, we recommend a series of three to six treatments spaced four to six weeks apart for optimal results.

Is There Any Downtime After Microneedling?

There's little to no downtime with SkinPen body treatments. You may notice mild redness or warmth that resembles a light sunburn for a day or two. Most clients return to their routine right away, which makes microneedling easy to fit into a busy New York schedule.

When Will I See Results From SkinPen Body Treatments?

Many clients notice smoother, firmer skin within a few weeks as fresh collagen and elastin develop. Results build gradually over several months and across your treatment series. Your provider at Elite Aesthetics will map out a timeline based on your skin and goals.

Does Microneedling Hurt?

Most clients feel only a minor sensation during a SkinPen body treatment. Beforehand, your provider applies a topical numbing cream to keep you comfortable. Afterward, the area may feel slightly tender, similar to a mild sunburn, though this fades quickly.
