What Is Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)?

PRF is an innovative treatment that uses your blood’s natural healing properties to stimulate skin cell regeneration and boost collagen production, especially beneath the eyes.

What Can PRF Do For You?

  • Improve the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles
  • Correct dark undereye circles and prominent tear troughs
  • Restore lost facial volume

How Is PRF Different From PRP?

The primary difference between platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is that the former incorporates fibrinogens–proteins that boost healing power.

When we place your blood sample into the centrifuge, we will spin it at a slower speed. This preserves a higher concentration of fibrinogens, stem cells, and white blood cells–creating a stronger and more potent serum.

Your PRF Appointment

Your PRF treatment will be performed at our luxurious Upper East Side medical spa. To begin, we will draw a small amount of blood from your arm. We will then spin the blood sample in a centrifuge at a slightly slower speed to isolate the platelets and growth factors.

From there, we will gently inject the PRF serum into the treatment area. The growth factors and proteins will stimulate cell growth, tissue regeneration, and collagen production over time, resulting in healthier and younger-looking skin from the inside out.

Frequently Asked Questions Platelet Rich Fribrin

How many PRF treatments will I need?

It depends on your goals and the quality of your skin. In general, most of our Upper East Side clients need three to six treatments for optimal results.

Should I have PRF or PRP treatments?

It depends on your goals. During your private consultation at our Flatiron medical spa, we will review the benefits of each treatment and select the one that can best meet your needs. In general, PRP is best for treating uneven skin tone, pigmentation issues, acne scars, and fine lines. Conversely, PRF is better for deeper wrinkles, prominent undereye troughs, dark circles, and more.
